New study on benefits and impacts of renewable portfolio standards

An excellent new study conducted jointly by Berkeley Lab and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) analyzes the costs and benefits of state renewable portfolio standards (RPS’s). In the aggregate, RPS’s have resulted in material reductions of greenhouse gases and other pollutants, and have also demonstrated the potential benefits of RPS policies in water-stressed regions. Economically, they have supported about 200,000 jobs while lowering wholesale power prices.  Please view the study by clicking here.
