Tradewind Energy was recently recognized with a Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) at the annual Esri User Conference. Out of 300,000 eligible candidates, Tradewind was chosen for its deep knowledge of innovative application of technology, data collection, geospatial information visualization and thought leadership. ESRI is a world leader in geographic information system (GIS) technology.
Tradewind has built a geo-spatially aware company that encourages renewable energy on many fronts. The company’s development of wind and solar energy projects is not only supporting communities and the environment, but has also reached $5 billion in capital investments to date. In the future, Tradewind would still like to keep the balance of new projects that are best fit for their local communities, while at the same time continuing to expand the firm’s portfolio.
Thousands of award candidates are sorted through by Esri staff, in which Esri president Jack Dangermond selects the finalists. Tradewind was one of 167 organizations in fields such as agriculture, defense, transportation, non-profit, telecommunications and state and local government to receive a SAG Award.
