Today, Enel Green Power North America, Inc. (EGP-NA) announced the successful start of operations of two wind projects in Oklahoma, bringing EGP-NA’s overall wind capacity in the state to more than 1.1 GW.
With the completion of Drift Sand and Chisholm View II, Tradewind Energy has developed more than 1000MW of wind energy in Oklahoma. Tradewind is proud to partner with Enel, having developed more than 2,862MW of wind energy now under ownership by EGP-NA.
Drift Sand is a 108MW wind project located in Grady County. The project has already made a tremendous impact on the nearby town of Rush Springs, OK – helping to support local schools with additional tax revenue as well as through community partnerships, thanks to funding made possible by the project’s owner – EGP-NA.
Located in Grant and Garfield counties, Chisholm View II adds 65 MW to the existing 235 MW Chisholm View wind farm, bringing the site’s total installed capacity to 300 MW.
Congratulations to EGP-NA for bringing these new projects to the grid, and to our project managers – Heath Herje and Nick Coil – for their efforts in partnering with the local communities to develop these projects!
