Ongoing Community Initiatives

Tom Swierczewski, with Tradewind Energy, presented a $5000 check to The Vault on behalf of the Alta Farms II Wind Project in Clinton, IL.  We are proud to invest in the growth and development of Clinton teenagers and are happy to pitch in to support the creation of The Vault, a fun and positive local teen center.

In an added show of support for the community, Tradewind Energy, is working with the DeWitt County Restoration Association on an interior renovation project in the 145 year old Magill House in downtown Clinton.  The designated restored space will serve as the temporary field office for Tradewind Energy during the development phase of the Alta Farms II Wind Project. The Magill House was opened in 1873 as a hotel with hopes of enticing the Illinois Central Railroad to move its headquarters to Clinton.  Their pursuit was a successful one and the railroad moved to Clinton in the late 1870’s.  The hotel declined dramatically over the years and ultimately closed in the 1980’s.  We are excited to see the original building restored and back in use.
